Strado is a wearable posture system developed for the Port of Antwerp, designed to support and train the body during prolonged seated work. The system was developed for and together with straddle carrier operators, responding directly to the physical demands of their daily working environment.
House of Āto focused on translating field research and on-site insights into a material solution that integrates seamlessly into existing workwear. Rather than adding complexity, the design combines passive support and ergonomic feedback into a single, unobtrusive system.
The project documents the full development process, from early prototyping to real-world testing at the Port of Antwerp. It explores the relationship between design, labour, and the body, and how wearable systems can support long-term physical well-being without disrupting established workflows.
